Chicago and Eastern Illinois Streamlined Cupola Caboose HO scale kit C&EI-01
Built in 1950 by the Chicago & Eastern Illinios shop forces from plans supplied to them via the Wabash Railroad these steel cabooses were modified slightly from the plans by the C&EI. These modifications included diffent window placement on the carbody and a streamline cupola that was extended by the C&EI Oaklawn shop forces in Danville Illinios. This information has been further confirmed by the grandaughter of two men who worked for the C&EI, Mrs. Reay stated that her paternal grandfather worked as a machinist and herMaternal grandfather worked as a Mechanical Engineer.
